The British government is offering train companies access to public money to include free Wi-Fi on their services. The aim is to get everything connected by 2017.

A number of people took to Twitter in response to point out that as nice as Wi-Fi is they'd rather have heated trains, more regular service, cheaper prices and fewer disruptions. It's a fair point, as at the least train fares in the UK are little short of extortion. Even so, those who commute long distances to get to work will be pleased about wireless access.

Of course, you could go on to note that 4G could be a better option for many people, and anyone who has used train Wi-Fi, or public Wi-Fi in general will know that it doesn't usually take much to bring the while thing to a screaming halt.
