Crysis Is Being Remastered for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch

Crysis is old enough that any new gaming rig will run it, but a remaster will surely see it push hardware to the absolute limit once again.

Crytek didn't plan to, but a remaster of Crysis has been accidentally announced for all consoles and PC via the official Crytek website.

As Eurogamer reports, it looks as though someone working on Crytek's website pushed a button early as details of Crysis Remastered appeared briefly online. Twitter user @Iashman was on hand to grab a few screenshorts before the inevitable happened and Crytek took down the content. A teaser video was also released and remains available to watch, but will likely be removed soon, too.

As to what we can expect from the remaster, the leak revealed the game is getting "new graphic features, high-quality textures, and the CRYENGINE's native hardware - and API-agnostic ray tracing solution." The other big news is somehow Crytek has managed to get the game running on the Nintendo Switch. That would be much harder to believe if we weren't already enjoying a great port of Doom for the hybrid console.

With the accidental leak confirming the remaster exists, I doubt it will be long before Crytek officially unveils it. We could see an official gameplay video before the day is over.
