Discord is beefing up its premium subscription with Xbox Game Pass access and discounts from select gaming brands.

Discord Nitro itself isn’t new; it lets users watch videos in HD, customize their profile, upload 500MB files, and more. However, the new Nitro Rewards benefits are designed to make its subscription more enticing. It comes in two tiers: Basic at $2.99 a month, or Nitro at $9.99 a month. You need to pay for the higher tier to get the new features, while Basic offers custom emoji, 50MB file uploads, and custom video backgrounds.

This update includes access to what Microsoft is calling a "starter edition" of Xbox Game Pass, now the most basic version of the game streaming service. You get over 50 games, including Day Z, Deep Rock Galactic, Dishonored 2, Doom Eternal, Fallout 4, Gears of War 5, Grounded, Hades, Overcooked 2, and Stardew Valley. You also get 10 hours of cloud gaming per month, allowing you to stream titles to other devices.

"Most of us have spent money on something, played it for a couple weeks, then watched it sit in our library. Game Pass removes that friction," says Lu Zhang, Discord's senior director of product.

Alongside Xbox Game Pass, Nitro Rewards will offer rotating discounts on tech from Logitech G, SteelSeries, and KontrolFreek. Logitech G offers up to 30% off, KontrolFreek up to 20% off, and SteelSeries up to 15% off, with deals set to appear starting today. This is in addition to discounts on the Discord Shop, and you get 250 Orbs each month, a virtual currency used to spend on upgrades like avatar improvements or profile effects.
