Free trials are a great way to try a new service for free as long as you remember to cancel before the trial runs out and there's a charge. Google is bypassing the whole payment details requirement with its latest Stadia Pro free trial, with the only catch being it's incredibly short.

Stadia Pro is Google's answer to game streaming, offering you a growing collection of games to play on your PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone, or smart TV. It's $9.99 per month after whatever free trial you sign up for. Typically you get a month of play before the $9.99 charge kicks in. However, as 9To5Google reports, the latest free trial for new users doesn't require payment details be entered, but it's limited to just 30 minutes of play time. After that, it flips over to a one-month free trial, but requires payment details be entered.

That's a very short period of time to check out a service, but you can't really argue with the convenience. A single click is all that's required for half an hour of streamed gaming. That's enough to see if your internet connection can cope and if you're happy gaming in this way. Is it long enough to decide whether you want to spend $10 a month, though? Only Google will know the answer to that question in a few days or weeks of running this unusually short trial. The fact it flips over to a month of free access certainly helps as long as people are willing to enter their card details.

Subscribing to Stadia Pro does gain you access to a growing list of free games that remain accessible as long as you continue to pay. However, there's also games you can purchase, and as an added incentive for signing up, Google offers $10 off you first purchase.
