Khaleesi isn't a name, it's a title. Translated from the Dothraki it means "Queen". Still, that hasn't stopped 53 sets of parents from bestowing it upon their newborn baby in 2014. These children are basically called "Queen".
The highest number of babies given a name from Game of Thrones was 244 and they got the kick-arse Arya as their moniker for life. In fairness, it's hard to blame anyone for that one, it's a nice enough name and the character is the bee's knees.
Also troubling though are the number of babies named for characters in Frozen too, with Elsa hitting 537 for the whole of 2014.
The story here really is about the Office of National Statistics opening up data of such things, as well as how names in popular fiction have an influence. But it was ever thus, and people draw inspiration from all over when naming their children. If they could just stop using titles though, that would be just great.
