Pros & Cons

X10's family of 2.4-GHz wireless devices transmits images faithfully up to 100 feet, needing only a nearby power plug or an optional 5-hour battery pack. And with a 120-degree viewing angle, the WideEye doubles the view of standard X10 cameras. The unit doesn't transmit audio, and picture quality is grainy and washed out, but hey—it's wireless. The XRay Vision Internet Kit is basically a video-to-USB adapter and software that you download from X10.

The application feeds live video to your desktop and saves a snapshot periodically, but you can't stream live video. If you're the type who doesn't need much documentation and who values functionality over form, this is a good starter solution.
