GoPro will begin dishing out good Karma next year.

In the works for more than a year, GoPro's new Karma line of "multi-rotor helicopters," outfitted with high-definition cameras, are expected in 2016.

Precious little is know about the product, which spent a year in prototyping; GoPro in October released two minutes of swooping, cinematic video captured with a development model.

"Karma is coming in 2016," a Tuesday blog post said, featuring some of the same footage released two months ago, this time with a soothing voiceover accompaniment.

"Take a moment to look around you. Take a moment to recognize the magic that surrounds us every day," the voice says. "The sky, clouds, wind through the trees, ocean waves, snow, rain, the sun rising, the sun setting. All of this, a dream. Life is a dream.

"Now what if you could move freely through this dream, your dream?" he continues. "Go wherever you want, experience it from any perspective. What if you could fly? That would be magic."

That power, presumably, will rest in consumers hands sometime next year, when the Karma quadcopter, with its built-in stabilization system, hits shelves.

Interested drone pilots can sign up online to receive the latest news about the unmanned vehicle; your email address will also be entered into a drawing to win one of 100 Karma drones from GoPro.

The company has also updated its mobile apps with a new design and the ability to capture still images from saved videos. Apple Watch wearers, meanwhile, can now control their action cam directly from the wrist, as well as preview shots and add HiLight Tags.
