Select top-end Mac Studio and Mac mini configurations are currently not available to buy from Apple, and the global storage crisis may be to blame.

As spotted by 9to5Mac, some Mac mini and Mac Studio models now say “currently unavailable" when you try to purchase online. Each model had long shipping delays before being marked as unavailable, which seemed to take effect in the last few days.

It includes the 32GB and 64GB RAM versions of the Mac mini, with select other models, such as the 48GB and 24GB, showing delays of over 10 weeks. Opting for 16GB of RAM brings the wait down to around a month.

The most expensive Mac Studio models are showing the same: the 128GB and 256GB models, powered by either an M3 Ultra or M4 Max, are completely out of stock. The models are on sale, but the wait times are long, with at least a month for every other version. In March, Apple removed the top-end 512GB RAM Mac Studio from its lineup.

Historically, the brand has done this just before introducing a product refresh. However, this may also be due to rising prices for memory components. Apple hasn't confirmed, but it may be finding its top-end RAM versions aren't as profitable as they once were.

Apple has had a particularly prolific start to the year, introducing the iPhone 17e, MacBook Neo, MacBook Air M5, MacBook Pro M5, Studio Display, Studio Display XDR, AirPods Max 2, and more. If it were set to announce new versions of the Mac Studio or Mac mini, we may hear more at WWDC 2026 in June.
