BT Sport is geared up for its biggest Premier League season yet; while Sky Sports will still show the lion's share of games (128), BT has scored broadcast rights to 52 Premier League matches for the 2019-20 season.

The current deal means that BT Sport will show one live Saturday evening weekend for the next three seasons, in addition to midweek fixtures.

Seeing as in a lot of cases, you'll need a BT Broadband service in order to get BT Sport, you might also want to check out our round up of BT Broadband deals here, as well as our broadband deals round up in general.

One of the easiest ways to watch BT Sport on the go is through EE or BT Mobile deals.

Subscribing to BT Sport gets you all of the BT channels - BT Sport 1-3, BT Sport ESPN, as well as the option of AMC.

BT Sport - Deals of the Day

BT Sport for new BT customers

If you don't currently get your TV package from Sky or Virgin Media, BT can offer a full package with a freeview box, alongside its Superfast Fibre (34 Mbps) broadband and BT Sport, all for just £42.99 a month.

By combining TV, broadband, and BT Sport together, you can keep it simple with a singular provider, and save plenty of cash along the way.

The entertainment and 4K bundles also include extra TV channels, including Comedy Central, National Geographic, E!, and more.

BT Sport for existing BT customers

Customers with BT already can pick up BT Sport for a great price currently. You can now get BT Sport for less than anyone on Sky or Virgin.

Head on over to BT and scroll down to the 'Already with us?' section, once there you can navigate through to add on BT Sport to your existing TV or broadband package.

BT Sport Online App

BT Sport is also available as an online app or your phone, tablet, or smart device. Current BT broadband customers can opt into BT Sport Online for only £5 p/m, while new broadband customers can get in bundled in with the latest BT broadband deals.

How much is BT Sport on Sky?

Current Sky TV customers can add BT Sport on to your package for a set monthly fee of £29.99 for standard definition. HD is also available at no extra cost for the first three months, but after that it's an extra £6.50 per month.

It's available on a 12 month or a 1 month rolling contract, if you want the option to opt out whenever.

Right now you will need to go directly through BT to get the new subscription, but come the end of 2019, Sky have agreed a deal which means BT Sport will finally be included in certain sport packages with Sky.

In the meantime you can get BT Sport with Sky, and you don't need a BT broadband subscription to get it. When signing up, you'll need both your Sky viewing card number and BT account number to hand when ordering.

If you do opt for a Sky Q box, make sure to un-check any options that increase the price of your package, as Sky will try and get you to buy a more expensive box at £199, instead of £20.

How to get BT Sport on Virgin Media

Most of the packages on offer with Virgin are rather pricey, but you do get over 230 channels, and ultrafast fibre broadband if you opt for that as well.

The Maxit TV packages include over 230 channels, alongside BT Sport and top Sky channels, all in HD.

The bigger bundles with Virgin pack 230 channels of top TV with ultrafast M100 Fibre Broadband, plus inclusive weekend calls.

The bigger sports bundle also includes Sky Sports Premier League, if you're after an even more conclusive package for the Premier League 2019/20 season.

Stream BT Sport with EE

Many EE Pay Monthly plans give you access to the BT Sport App for either three months or the duration of your contract.

Note that while the BT Sport apps support Chromecast, this functionality is locked out unless you're a BT TV subscriber.

To get BT Sport streams on your iOS or Android device, you need to text 'SPORT' to 150 to activate the service - and unless it's included in your contract, it costs £5/month.

My Experience

I’ve been freelancing as a tech journalist for several years now, after long wanting to write about my passion for video games. I have bylines on Kotaku and other sites, but PCMag is where you can find most of my musings on gaming, its culture, and where the industry is going next. I also test online services for both businesses and individuals. If you’re interested in hearing me talk about entertainment, film, and TV, you can check out my Patreon and Substack, both under the name “Robby Knows.”

The Technology I Use

Most of the tech I use every day is within the Apple ecosystem. Currently, I rely on a 2025 MacBook Air for computing and dabble in art projects on my 6th-generation iPad Mini. I don't go anywhere without my AirPods Pro 2 in my pocket.

As an avid gamer, you better believe that I always have a controller in my hands if I’m not watching movies or TV. I use my PS5 and Switch 2 equally, depending on what’s the hot new release, and am always trying to find interesting ways to tinker with my Steam Deck.

Given the current state of social media and technology, I find myself going more analog to escape the noise. I have a modest collection of watches, both automatic and digital, to free myself from the pings and notifications of the modern world. I also put my phone in a ySky lockbox for 12 hours every night to reduce my screen time. I spent a lot of the past year trying to read good books rather than scroll through feeds.
