Apple retail stores remain widely closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, but that doesn't mean you can't still snag a new tablet or smartwatch you've been eyeing.
Apple has just launched an online shopping hub where you can chat with specialists, trade in products, book no-contact delivery, and get support from the Genius Bar. "Everything you love about our stores is online," the page explains, encouraging folks to continue spending money on computers, handsets, earbuds, set-top boxes, and all the necessary accessories.
As 9to5Mac points out, most Apple Stores have been closed since mid-March; those that have reopened prioritize online shopping and largely handle support appointments. Earlier this month, CEO Tim Cook hinted that "just a few, not a large number" of U.S. retail stores will reopen in the coming weeks. He said the company is "going to look at the data and make a decision city by city, county by county, depending on the circumstances in that particular place."
The new hub, however, means you don't even have to put on pants to get a dose of retail therapy. Look for information about financing and Apple card, learn more about your devices with Today at Apple* (*At Home), and explore everything Cupertino has to offer (including the long-forgotten iPod touch).
Apple on Monday launched an updated version of its 13-inch MacBook Pro. And while you likely can't test the Magic Keyboard under your own two hands just yet, you can buy the new model (starting at $1,299) from the Apple Store Online. Deliveries are expected as early as today.
