If you are bored with text-heavy responses from Gemini, you can now ask the chatbot to include 3D models and interactive simulations in its queries.
While Gemini could always respond to queries with static images, the new feature is intended to help you visualize how concepts work in real time. For example, it could show how the moon orbits the Earth or provide charts where changing numbers instantly update the visuals.
The feature is rolling out to the Gemini app and works when you select the Pro model from the prompt box, which is set to Fast by default. Note that you’ll need to include phrases like “show me” or “help me visualize” in your query.
I asked Gemini to demonstrate how refraction or Snell’s Law works, and it pulled up an interactive space, where I could adjust deciding factors like the angle of incidence and the two media. The sliders and visualizations functioned smoothly, but the interface had a minor drawback. The simulation did not fit the screen at the default size, so I had to minimize the window to take the picture you see below.

You’ll get explanations for each incorrect response. Anthropic’s Claude, too, provides similar tutorials with interactive charts and diagrams.
Earlier this week, Gemini also rolled out a feature called notebooks to help you organize all files and conversations related to a single topic in a dedicated space. You can start a new notebook from Gemini’s side panel.
