4.0 Excellent

The Bottom Line

Survive! Mola Mola! is a fun and funny time-killing Android game that may make you question your mortality and the cyclical nature of existence.

Pros & Cons

    • Easy, meditative gameplay.
    • Cute, pixelated graphics.
    • Charming and funny text.
    • Stability issues.
    • Aggressive ads unless an in-app purchase made.

I felt accomplished this morning when I died of old age. That's the state of mind you get into after playing enough Survive! Mola Mola! (Free; also available on iOS), it's a funny, bleak twist on a virtual pet that will make you laugh, cry, and contemplate the hopelessness of existence.

I played Mola Mola extensively on my Samsung Galaxy S5£179 at Amazon UK, though older devices should have no problem with this simple game. Though free, you can purchase the game's premium currency for as little as 99 cents. Doing so will also remove the Mola Mola's rather aggressive ads.
