HTC didn't have a flagship phone announcement at MWC. Instead it showed off the midrange X9 and left Samsung and LG to battle it out for best phone at the show.

But there is indeed a next-gen device from HTC in the works, and the phone maker this week provided us with a sneak peek at what is expected to be the HTC One M10. The company on Wednesday tweeted a silhouette of a device accompanied by the #Powerof10 hashtag.

Fans looking for a fix can check out the leaked "HTC One M10 in white," posted last week by Evan Blass, who also tipped a U.S. release the week of May 9. GSM Arena says HTC will host a press event on May 11.

HTC did not immediately respond to PCMag's request for comment.

Based on previous rumors, the M10—internally codenamed "Perfume"—will feature a 5.1-inch QHD AMOLED touch screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front shooter, and fingerprint scanner.

It is expected to run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, with HTC Sense 8.

The company has a lot riding on its new products: Sagging sales and market share mean HTC needs a hit. Its $799 Vive virtual reality headset, meanwhile, will be up for pre-order at 10 a.m. ET on Feb. 29, with general availability in early April.
