VAIO today launched two new flagships notebooks—the deluxe VAIO Z and standard-model VAIO S, designed specifically for mobile professionals.

Boasting multiple ports and long battery life, the 13.3-inch portable PCs are built for presentations, meetings, and late-night assignments.

Available in the 2-in-1 convertible model or classic clamshell, the VAIO Z comes with Intel's 6th-generation 28W Skylake processor and a miniaturized motherboard. The extra room allows for fans and a larger battery: VAIO promises up to 11.5 hours of use on the flip model, and 15.5 hours with the clamshell version.

Whether you're sharing a PowerPoint or the screen, the Z flip model makes it easy to adjust from standard clamshell position to a tablet-like monitor. And, use the 8-megapixel high-res camera to capture documents and images, then store, edit, and share content via the CamScanner app. A pressure-sensitive digitizer stylus also help with note-taking.

If you're not in the market for bells and whistles, try VAIO's S, with an extra durable case, standard ports (including HDMI, LAN, and USB 3.0), and ergonomic quiet-typing keyboard, plus Microsoft's Signature Edition software.

"Business professionals need long battery life and portability without sacrificing power or performance, so they can work on-the-go without slowing down," Ryosuke Akahane, VAIO executive vice president, said in a statement. "We delivered just that, essentially going back to what VAIO has been known for."

The VAIO Z flip model ($1,799) is available to order starting Feb. 8; the VAIO S ($1,099) and Z clamshell model ($1,499) are coming to us.vaio.com and microsoftstore.com in early March.

Sony sold the VAIO brand in 2014.
