There's been speculation that daily deals have peaked. Facebook recently killed its Deals product, Yelp announced that it would trim daily deals, and revenue for both LivingSocial and Groupon declined last month. But this industry probably won’t go away anytime soon, and an infographic from Lab42 shows that Groupon is still leading the charge.

In a graphic that gives a breakdown of the space, Lab42 shows that 64 percent of people it surveyed are members of Groupon, 49 percent of folks have joined LivingSocial, 32 percent have signed up for Eversave, and 18 percent are a part of SocialBuy. More than half (51 percent) have copped a deal from Groupon and 37 percent have nabbed one from LivingSocial. Eversave and SocialBuy are less popular, with 21 percent and 18 percent having bought from these companies, respectively.

There are a number of ways to follow daily deals from these companies, but the graphic shows that most people (55 percent) keep up with them via email. Checking a company’s Web site is the second most-popular method, used by 47 percent of people. A quarter of bargain hunters find deals on mobile apps and 21 percent use aggregator services.

There has been debate as to whether daily deals are helpful to businesses, but Lab42 says 60 percent of respondents only buy deals from businesses with which they are already acquainted, and 17 percent report that they view a business more negatively after it runs a daily deal. However, a majority of people (61 percent) have also let their deals expire before using them.

Have you bought a daily deal in the past year? Lab42 says 38 percent of people have purchased between one and five deals and 35 percent have snagged more than 10. For the entire breakdown, see the infographic below.
