Samsung might release a television equipped with Google TV in January, according to a report from Bloomberg.

Yoon Boo Keun, head of Samsung's TV business, told Bloomberg he is "open" to using Intel's chips in Samsung TVs. In September, Keun said the company was examining the technology. Samsung already offers a variety of Internet-connected televisions, equipped with its Samsung Apps content platform.

Samsung said it was considering the option.

"Samsung is focused on delivering the most complete Internet TV experience to consumers and this will guide our approach as we consider introducing new services or platforms such as Google," a Samsung spokeswoman said via e-mail. "A relationship with Google TV is currently under consideration."

Launched last month, Google TV is currently available via Sony TVs, Sony Blu-ray player, and Logitech's standalone Revue set-top box. The Sony Internet TV is a 1080p LCD HDTV ranging from 24-42 inches, priced from $599.99-$1,399.99. Sony's Blu-ray player is $399.

For $299.99, the Logitech Revue is a set-top box that will connect to any HDTV. It also provides 720p-streaming video conference capability.

With Google TV, users can stream content to their device as well as experience a Chrome-powered browser from their living room. It also provides access to apps such as Pandora and Netflix. Twitter has developed its own app that comes pre-loaded on Google TV's software.
