Rumors are swirling about pricing and release date for the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab, but the company has yet to confirm much beyond the Nov. 1 U.K. launch.

The latest rumors come courtesy of Tmo news, which reported that T-Mobile will offer the tablet for $649.99 without a contract or $399 with a two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. The rumor is based on a leaked ad that Tmo believed to be from a T-Mobile dealer.

The T-Mobile report follows similar pricing rumors from Boy Genius post. According to the blog, the Sprint version of the Tab will go on sale around Nov. 14 for $399 with a contract. The non-contract version was priced $50 less, however, at $599.

The Android-based device will be available on all four major U.S. carriers, Samsung said last month. The question is, will this price point allow the tab to compete with the iPad? PCMag mobile analyst Sascha Segan spent some time with the device and said the Tab would likely do best priced at $299 plus $20 per month for data and no contract.
