Buying Guide: BeejiveIM (for iPhone)

With the market for paid iPhone apps still in flux, it's hard for any developer to justify charging more than a few dollars for anything other than a very specialized product. So it takes guts for Beejive to charge $15.99 for its BeejiveIM instant-messaging app, especially when similar multi-client apps like Palringo are available free. The developers, who also offer a version for the BlackBerry, have a clever trick up their sleeve that makes the app stand out from the crowd—but only IM addicts will justify the cost.
