Now that the new iPad announcement is behind us, we can focus on other Apple product rumors. And according to the Apple update calendar, the next product to presumably come out of Cupertino will be updated laptops.

MacRumors has uncovered a tidbit that first appeared on Electricpig and tips an April reveal for a 15-inch MacBook Air.

At a U.K. Mac accessory expo, a vendor identified as a "key player in MacBook docking solutions" reportedly told Electricpig about the new machine. Electricpig said the move would "effectively kill the [MacBook] Pro," though the blog's source believed Apple would likely hold on to the 17-inch Pro.

Rumors about a 15-inch Air are nothing new or groundbreaking, though. A number of rumors have suggested that Apple would add a notebook of that size to its line of super-slim computers. There have also been rumblings about a 14-inch MacBook Air, but a 15-inch machine would make more sense, especially because Apple has offered laptops in that size for many years.

On top of that, evidence has been mounting that Apple will ditch the optical drive in all of its laptops, as it's done with the Air. It's also been rumored that Apple will add Retina Display to its next MacBooks, as it did with the third-gen iPad.

That said, it's questionable that Apple itself would have shared this information with suppliers, so take this rumor with a high dose of sodium.
