Tumblr has launched the ultimate boredom buster: Visit Tumblr TV to kick back and relax in front of a never-ending carousel of full-screen GIFs. Don't forget the snacks.

"Never touch your computer again, because now it's perfect forever," the Tumblr staff wrote in a blog post.

Let the site's auto-slideshow feature do all the work for you, or manually click through each random GIF, which range from movie, TV, and theater clips to dancing One Direction members and homemade pet videos. Pause at any time to rewatch Beetlejuice repetitively shoot finger guns.

"Why? This is the '90s, baby! Anything goes!" Tumblr said.

Do you want to spend your afternoon watching Benedict Cumberbatch smile, wink, and be charming? Search for your favorite celebrities, sports stars, musicians, animals, places, food, or anything else that springs to mind for a set of very specific Tumblr TV GIFs.

The looping clips automatically play in full-screen mode; those that don't quite fill the display are overlaid onto a zoomed-in version of itself, digging the black hole of distraction even deeper.

Turn your own blog into a Tumblr TV channel simply by changing the URL to tumblr.com/tv/@yourblog. Also, add the word "gif" to the end of any Tumblr search, click the "TV" button, and set an alarm to wake yourself from the GIF-induced trance.

The move comes just weeks after Tumblr added new GIF search capabilities, which launched in the wake of Facebook's approval of the animated clips on its site. Giphy, which also runs an online TV-like feature, recently released a Chrome extension that makes it easier to share GIFs via email.

Hulu, meanwhile, launched a new search engine on Tumblr for animated graphics. Dubbed "The Perfect GIF," users can search for and browse TV-themed GIFs by show, actions, or reactions from programs like Saturday Night Live, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Parks and Recreation, Star Trek, and Clarissa Explains It All.
