The Bottom Line

Making a tiny robot water flowers over and over again is fun, but listening to his friends talk gets old quickly.

Pros & Cons

    • Cute, quirky graphics and gameplay.
    • Charming cast of characters.
    • Gameplay and cutscenes can get very repetitive, very quickly.
    • Combination of d-pad and touch screen controls occasionally awkward.

Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol Specs

ESRB Rating: E for Everybody
Genre: Action Games
Platform: Nintendo DS
  • Platform Tested: Nintendo DS
  • Genre: Adventure/Rhythm
  • ESRB: E (Comic Mischief)

Chibi-Robo puts you in control of a cute, 4-inch high robot with a mind for eco-consciousness. Your task is to rejuvenate a neglected park by making it green and full of flowers. You're also tasked with fighting off the polluting forces of the "Smoglings". While watering flowers (and making them spit out seeds by whipping out your tiny robot boom box and busting a move) is fun, it can get old, as can the dialogue scenes you'll have no choice to watch over and over again. Despite its flaws, Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol has enough charm to make it worth a spin, especially to the green-minded.
