Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile Review

Windows Hello offers biometric sign-in using infrared cameras that scan your irises.

Windows 10 Mobile maintains Windows Phone 8.1's eminently touchable tile interface.

You can now create tile groups, as you can on iOS.

Swipe right-to-left, and you see all installed apps. Most-recently installed apps appear at the top, and a search box offers another way to get to the app you need.

Holding down the phone's back arrow lets you choose among open apps.

Notifications and a customizable set of quick actions appear when you swipe down from the top of the screen.

Hold down the magnifying glass icon to invoke Cortana and speak a voice command.

Cortana can tell you how long it will take to get home or to work.

Continuum lets you use a phone as a full-fledged PC, either with a docking station or over Wi-Fi.

This looks like a huge Windows PC screen, but it's being powered by the smartphone, which also acts as a trackpad. Here, Continuum is connecting the phone to the screen over Wi-Fi using Miracast.

Like other mobile OSes, Windows 10 Mobile can speak driving directions.

The Settings page has been redesigned with clear groups and icons.

Though you won't find some apps you do for Android and iOS, there's a large game selection.

The Xbox app lets you stay in touch with your gamer community.

The Photos app can create albums and do basic photo editing.

Here's where you tell Cortana what topics for which you'd like to see notifications and entries in your Daily Glance.

Cortana can create reminders based on time, place, or person.

Tap on a letter in the all apps page and you can navigate directly to any letter to find apps that start with that letter.
