Find Any File is probably the most-recommended file-finding utility for OS X, and it deserves to be.

FindAnyFile : Search

Find Any File lets you build complex searches from a clear menu. Use the top-line File menu to save a search specification to a file.

FindAnyFile : List

By default, Find Any File displays found files in a two-pane window, with the list of hits at the top pane and the position of the hit in the file system in the lower pane.

FindAnyFile : Tree

Click on an icon at the upper left of the window, and the list of found files switches to a tree view with each found file displayed in its position in the tree.

FindAnyFile : Prefs

Find Any File includes a built-in option to set a hotkey that launches it. I recommend Ctrl-Cmd-Space, an easy-to-remember alternative to Cmd-Space, which launches Spotlight.
