If you're in the market for the world's largest curved Ultra HD TV, you better have some deep pockets.

Samsung on Tuesday announced that its new 105-inch curved Ultra HD TV set will cost $120,000. First unveiled at this year's Consumer Electronic Show, the 4K set goes beyond the relatively standard 3,840-by-2,160 resolution found on most 4K HDTVs with a 5,120-by-2,160 resolution. This gives the screen a 21:9 aspect ratio compared to the typical 16:9 aspect ratios found on 1080p and most 4K HDTVs, and increases the number of pixels from 8 million to 11 million for brighter, clearer images.

Each unit is built to order, and comes with Samsung's "Elite Service," where an engineer will actually come to your house and explain all the features of the TV and optimize it for your living room. The set is available for pre-order now, if you're rich enough to afford it.

Samsung UHD S9 Series Smart TV - 105” Class"Made for the premium entertainment lover, the 105-inch curved UHD TV features the most advanced technology and design, a massive movie-theater style UHD screen and a curve that creates the ultimate cinematic experience," Joe Stinziano, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics America, said in a statement.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for more of a "bargain," LG sells its own 105-inch curved UHD TV for $70,000.

Unsurprisingly, UHD (or 4K) TVs are not really making gains just yet, according to new data from IHS Technology. Among the top 13 worldwide brands for LCD TVs, the share of UHD TV shipments reached 5 percent in May, though that is up from 4 percent in April, 3 percent in March, and 2 percent in February.

"While UHD TV share has expanded by at least 1 percentage point for the last three months, growth hasn't budged much since September last year when the market was already at the 2 percent level," IHS said. "The top 13 brands account for more than 75 percent of total LCD TV shipments, and also represent over 90 percent of overall UHD LCD TV shipments."

My Experience

I'm PCMag's managing editor for consumer electronics, overseeing an experienced team of analysts covering smart home, home entertainment, wearables, fitness and health tech, and various other product categories. I have been with PCMag for more than 10 years, and in that time have written more than 6,000 articles and reviews for the site. I previously served as an analyst focused on smart home and wearable devices, and before that I was a reporter covering consumer tech news. I'm also a yoga instructor, and have been actively teaching group and private classes for nearly a decade.

Prior to joining PCMag, I was a reporter for SC Magazine, focusing on hackers and computer security. I earned a BS in journalism from West Virginia University, and started my career writing for newspapers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

The Technology I Use

My little Florida beach bungalow is brimming with smart home tech. I have a smart speaker or display in every room, allowing me to control other connected devices by voice. The Nest Hub on my bedside table lets me set wake-up alarms, control my smart light bulbs, and set the temperature on my smart thermostat. I use the Amazon Echo Show 8 on my kitchen counter to browse recipes, reorder protein powder, check the weather, and watch the news while I do dishes.

Because I suffer from allergies, air purifiers are essential. My favorite model is the Dyson Purifier Cool TP07, which doubles as a fan and continuously sends indoor pollution data to its companion mobile app.

My pitbull Bradley sheds, so a good robot vacuum is a must. I currently use a premium Ecovacs Deebot that can both vacuum and mop, empty its own dustbin, and wash its own mop cloth.

For fitness, I like to mix up my routine with cycling, indoor rowing, running, and strength training in addition to yoga. I take classes on the Tonal 2 smart strength training machine, I row indoors on an Aviron machine, and track my beach runs with an Apple Watch while listening to music on my Apple AirPods Pro. On the weekends, I love riding e-bikes like the rugged, beach-friendly Aventon Aventure for fun and fitness.

My job involves a lot of virtual meetings, so a quality webcam, microphone, and ring light are important. I use the Jabra PanaCast 20 webcam, the Elgato Wave: 3 microphone, and a Yesker tripod ring light.

As for my preferred phone platform, I'm an iPhone person, but I've also extensively used Android for product testing.
