TalkTalk is giving away a month of free Sky Sports channels, as part of this year’s Black Friday consumer fest.

Normally charged at £32/month, the bundle of six Sky Sports channels will be free for any new customers signing up for a TalkTalk TV package (starting at £22.95/month) today.

TalkTalk TV is an IPTV service, delivering a mix of the typical digital terrestrial channels you’d get via Freeview and extra pay TV channels (like Sky Sports) streamed over an Internet connection; this is why you’ll need to take TalkTalk broadband in order to get TalkTalk TV.

While TalkTalk TV contracts themselves are typically 12 months long, one neat feature about adding extra channel bundles (called ‘TV Boosts’ by TalkTalk) is that they can be taken on a rolling monthly basis.

This means if you’re mainly interested in Sky Sports for the Premier League coverage, you can sign up for those ten months and cancel during the off-season break.

Unfortunately, existing TalkTalk TV subscribers who’ve already got the Sky Sports Boost won’t be able to claim this month free. Once 30 days are up, new customers will be charged £32 for every month, unless they cancel.
