Spotify this week introduced out a new way for listeners to easily sort "Liked Songs" for every mood and moment. Users with at least 30 saved tracks can filter their favorites by up to 15 personalized mood and genre categories.
Looking for background tunes for when you're working? Need music to pump you up for a workout? Want some soothing sounds for your self-care session? Simply visit "Your Library" then "Liked Songs" and choose one of the filters at the top of the playlist to display all tracks represented by that genre or mood.
"From genres like dancehall, J-pop, and bluegrass to moods like pump up, moody, and soulful, your favorite songs will not be the best representation of you in any given moment," the Spotify announcement explained. When you're ready to move on to another category, tap "X" to disable the filter and return to your full "Liked Songs" collection.
Continue curating your catalog by clicking the "heart" button next to any song to add or remove it from your list. As your tastes change, so will your mood and genre filters, which are based entirely on the content of your personal compilation.
Spotify currently allows users to sort their "Liked Songs" by title, artist, album, or "recently added"; search for a specific title; or shuffle play. New filters, however, are rolling out "over the coming weeks" to free and premium listeners on Android and iOS in English-speaking markets, including the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. There is no word on desktop availability yet.
