It may be a huge download, but the content should keep you entertained until the delayed releade date of April 17.

It's been a very long time since I've run a game demo off a disc, instead they are more commonly offered in download form to give you a quick introduction before deciding to purchase. For Sega's Yakuza 6: Song of Life, there is a demo, but it certainly won't be quick to try as it weighs in at a very hefty 36.53GB download.

As IGN points out, this demo is larger than a lot of full game downloads on the PS4. However, it's not without reason. The Yakuza 6 demo forms a prologue for the full game. You will be able to save your progress which is then transferable to the main game at launch. Playing the demo will allow you to progress part way through the main story, the sub-story, as well as earn EXP and fill your inventory.

It is expected to be the same demo as the one released in Japan, meaning you'll be able to play through the whole of the game's first chapter. The story is set after the events of Yakuza 5 and begins with the series' main protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, recovering from his injuries before being arrested by the police for his past crimes.

While 36GB is a lot of data to download just for a demo, I think this classes more of an introduction and preparation for the main game, and you won't be replaying anything included here when the full game launches. It will also help fill the gap left by Sega delaying the game's launch from March 20 to April 17.

The demo is free to download and play, with the full game launching on April 17 in three editions: a Standard Edition, the Essence of Art Edition, and an After Hours Premium Edition.
