The Order: 1886 (for PlayStation 4)

The Order might be the most visually impressive game on the PlayStation 4 to date. Alternate-history Victorian London is architecturally beautiful, economically grimy, and full of little details that really make you feel like you're walking down a street Jack the Ripper followed the night before.

The premise is straight-laced, actual steampunk. It's an alternate Victorian London in the titular year 1886, where an order of knights use weapons designed by Nikola Tesla to fight werewolves.

The characters look amazing, with extensive and subtle facial animations. The uniforms are full of details like pips, tassels, and other little fringe bits that make the knights of the Order really look like Victorian soldiers.

The special weapons, like the thermite gun and the lightning cannon, are few and far between. The majority of arms consist of the same selection of slugthrowers you've seen in every game of this genre.

The action is over-the-shoulder third-person shooting, similar to Gears of War. You have a main weapon and a sidearm, can throw grenades, and can hide behind cover and pop out to shoot at enemies.
