Prezi

You can choose an existing theme template for a new Prezi presentation or start with a blank canvas. In this screen, by the way, I'm using the standalone desktop Prezi app for Windows.

Now I'm editing in the Web interface, and when I open a presentation here, the site displays some useful screen tips. Here I'm adding a PCMag.com logo to a presentation.

When you collaborate with other users on a presentation, their names and avatars (optionally with photos) appear on a toolbar on the right, and the place where they're editing or viewing is indicated by an avatar in the presentation itself.

Here I'm editing again in the standalone Prezi app for Windows, but the features are the same as in the Web interface. I've placed a frame around the title and marked it as the opening view in an animated presentation. Note the different kinds of available frames.

You edit the animated pathway through a Prezi canvas by clicking on various locations. By clicking on the plus signs between each stopping point, you can add a location.

The dotted blue line at the left is one of Prezi's alignment tools. Similar lines appear when you're lining up objects so that they're centered.

A menu on the main screen lets you export presentations as single files to be used as backups or for editing in the Prezi application, or as portable archives that include run-time apps for editing or viewing on Windows or the Mac.

The autoplay option automatically moves to a new location after a specified interval, or you can click the arrows to move forward or back, or preview other locations on a timeline.

As in other presentation programs, you can change the theme of a presentation at any time, but you may find that you need to realign frames and text afterwards because the text size varies in each theme.

An option lets you change a presentation from the default wide-screen size to the old 4:3 ratio. The "Enable Shortcuts" option turns on single-keystroke controls for creating and modifying content.
