Where You Come From

Each new game of Six Ages begins with the opportunity to craft a backstory for your clan. This clan legend establishes your lore, as well as some starting stats.

An Enthralling World

The world of Six Ages is called Glorantha, a place where humans compete for survival amidst the machinations of endlessly warring deities. Stunning art helps bring the world to life.

Learn From the Tutorial...

An opt-in tutorial explains the basics of the game. But just the basics.

...But Read the Manual

The extensive manual is required reading to actually understand the game.

A Magical Simulation

Six Ages is, first and foremost, a simulation game. Unlike other games in the genre, Six Ages makes you execute actions from screens like these. You allocate your clan's magical and mundane resources to get through each year.

Sacrificial Solutions

When you need to heal your sick, or there's some other crisis, your first response is requesting heavenly help. Sacrificing to specific gods and building shrines is a key aspect of Six Ages.

Exploring Your World

It's a big world, and sending out explorers to learn more about it is necessary to advancing in Six Ages. You'll also need to get to know (and possibly fight) your neighbors.

Becoming Prosperous

Diplomacy and trade help keep your clan fed and can build valuable alliances.

The Gods' War

Throughout the game, you'll gather pieces of ancient tales that chronicle the events of the Gods' War. Understanding these stories will help you carry out a Ritual, where a member of your clan enters the realm of the Gods and plays the role of a deity in one of the sacred stories. Rituals are risky, but success yields enormous rewards.

Not Your Typical Fantasy

Six Ages eschews the Tolkien-style fantasy trappings, drawing instead from the RuneQuest lore. It's very different from other fantasy stories and is packed with strange creatures, each with its own culture.

A Crisis Arises

Twice a season, you'll be faced with interactive events like this one. These let you choose the best outcome from a list of possibilities. There's not always a right answer, but sometimes there's a least-bad option.

Frustrating Design

Between its fine-grained detail and expansive scope, Six Ages is a hard game. An occasionally clumsy design doesn't help. This Spirits menu is very hard to find, and doesn't always respond to your touch.

A Generation of Games

Six Ages has its roots in a decades-old PC title. The creators have hinted that more will follow.
