Bitdefender's unobtrusive firewall handles outside attacks like port scans and manages network access for known and unknown programs.

Here the firewall has detected a port scan and blocked the attacking page's access.

If you need local spam filtering for your POP3 email account, Bitdefender can help. Its settings are extremely simple. We advise that you let it send spam samples for analysis, but tell it not to send your valid (and private) messages.

You manage Bitdefender's parental control system from the online Bitdefender Central console. Settings for each child apply to all devices assigned to that child.

You can any number of Windows, Android, iOS, or macOS devices to each child's profile. Under Windows, but not macOS, your setting affect one specified user account.

On each child's settings page, you can configure the content filter, block unwanted apps, define allowable screen time, and locate the child's mobile devices. For devices that support it, you can view and manage the child's contacts.

By using an off-brand browser, we managed to get past the content filter's ability to block secure HTTPS sites. However, when we tried using a secure anonymizing proxy to visit a naughty site, the filter kicked in, as seen here.

For parental control to function correctly on an Android device, you must enable several high-end permission settings.

You must grant several permissions to install parental control on an iOS device, including installing an MDM profile. On Android or iOS devices, you can monitor and block phone calls, and track the child's location.

To safely store your sensitive files you can create any number of encrypted file vaults. When open, a vault acts like any other disk drive. When locked, nothing can access its contents.

Bitdefender can take charges of webcam security by allowing access only to known, approved programs. You can also set it to block all access, or block access from a browser.
