The Quirky Aros is a beautiful window air conditioner with an extremely useful companion app, but both the app and the unit itself could use a little more fine-tuning.

The Aros has a sleek, clean look that instantly brings Apple to mind. That's a good thing, since just about every other window unit on the market shares the same dull design.

At the bottom of the unit you'll find a number of capacitive touch controls which allow you to turn the Aros on or off, cycle through cooling modes, and change fan speeds.

The fabric wings on the Aros fail to create a proper seal from the outdoors. This means they not only fail to provide proper insulation, but they can let small bugs in.

The Wink app has a Power button, letting you turn the Aros on or off no matter where you are. But a bug meant I wasn't able to see the temperature in the room in which it was installed.

In addition to being able to control the Aros whenever you want to, the Wink app has a Smart Away feature to automatically turn the air conditioner on or off based on your phone's GPS location, which is pretty awesome.

When you hold your phone sideways, the Wink app display will automatically change to show you your Monthly Budget, Daily Spending, and other metrics including Most Expensive Day and Average Daily Use.
