Pros & Cons
A 650W
Design and Features
Thermaltake crafted the Toughpower Grand 650 for both aesthetics and efficiency, giving it a black, matte finish across its perforated metal chassis. A red stripe lines its sides, and the Thermaltake logo sits on its face just over the 140 millimeter flower-shape fan. Included in the power supply's ATX form factor are a 24-pin main connector, an 8-pin power connector and one EPS/ATX 12 V 4+4-pin power connector.
Thermaltake also packed two 8-pin PCI-E connectors, eight 5-pin SATA connectors, eight 4-pin peripheral connectors, one 4-pin FDD connector and two 6-pin PCI-E connectors within the unit. The single 12V rail inside the Toughpower Grand 650 is said to provide compatibility for the latest components, too.
In addition to newly designed active PFC circuitry, the Toughpower Grand 650 also offers FanDelayCool technology. This allows the unit's fan to operate for another 30 seconds after shutdown, which ensures all components have cooled. Thanks to its 92 percent efficiency, this product is Energy Star compliant.
