Shadow Warrior 2 (for PC)

Lo Wang is a one-man army, the likes of which haven't been seen outside of 1990s-era shooters. Equipped with a warehouse-sized amount of weapons, Wang can cut a swathe through anything that gets in his way.

Melee combat is highly fleshed-out and involved, so it is a perfectly viable alternative to gun fighting. If cutting demons to pieces with your bare hands tickles your fancy, give melee weapons a spin.

Shadow Warrior 2 injects a lot of Asian mythology into its narrative, as well as its gameplay. Here Lo Wang cuts a ninja in half with a throwing star, while two serpent-like Naga barrel towards him.

When it comes to gore, Shadow Warrior 2 does not mess around. Here Lo Wang blasts a basketball-sized hole into his armor-wearing enemy, while another demon in the background suffers similar wounds.

Like melee weapons, guns will dismember opponents upon death in hilariously over-the-top fashion. You can expect enemies to be blown in two or more pieces when using a gun with some kick.

Earth is overrun with demons, and humanity has its hands full fighting amongst themselves as well as their supernatural adversaries. Lo Wang offers his services to the highest bidder, but once again finds himself in a struggle to save the world.
