Tis the season for a new robot vacuum. If you’re in need of an automated helper to keep your floors clean, you’ll generally find the best deals in the fall, and Amazon’s October Prime Big Deal Days doesn’t disappoint. Lots of brands from our regularly updated list of best robot vacuums are offering big discounts, including iRobot, Ecovacs, Roborock, Shark, Eufy, and Dreame.

As a rule of thumb, look for something from a reputable brand. Recent models from Ecovacs and Dreame have earned high ratings in our reviews, and our readers love Eufy and Shark. Also, make sure the vacs have the features you want, as you’ll be paying a couple hundred dollars at least and don’t want buyers’ remorse. A self-emptying dustbin is one of our must-have features, especially if you're allergic to dust. A vacuum that also mops can add a lot of convenience to your cleaning routine if you have a mix of carpet and hard flooring. Most of these features come at a premium, but now is a great time to buy a high-end model for less than MSRP.

During big sales events like October Prime Day or Black Friday, look for a discount of at least 30%. Less than that, and you’re likely to stumble on a similar discount at any time of the year with a little patience.

Even within these general guidelines, you might still notice lots of deals and struggle to decide which one to pick. I review robot vacuums for a living and am here to help. In fact, as I type this story, I'm keeping one eye on a robot vacuum I'm testing as it cleans a mess of rice that I spread along the wall (check out all the details of our testing procedure here). Below, I’ll highlight the best deals I find that meet all of the criteria above and also strike me as a particularly strong value on standout models.

This Prime Day, one of our favorite robot vacuums gets a big discount. The Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is currently 43% off, bringing it down to $854.99 from its $1,499.99 MSRP.

Even better, the Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is among the best robot vacuums regardless of price. It vacuums and mops thoroughly, works efficiently, empties its own dustbin, cleans its own mops, and has a long battery life. This is an attractive discount on an excellent robot vacuum that truly does it all.

iRobot Roomba is rightfully one of the most popular robot vacuum brands, and the company is offering big discounts on tons of models. While you probably can’t go wrong with any of Roomba’s deals, the best one is for budget shoppers looking to get a steal.

The iRobot Roomba i3+ Evo is already a good value at its $549.99 list price. It maps your home, cleans efficiently, and after the run, it empties its own dustbin into its base station. For Prime Day, it's just $249.99, which is 55% off. That sticker puts it below the normal price of the Editors’ Choice winning $274.99 Roomba Combo Essential, which is also on sale, but at a much smaller discount and that model doesn’t have advanced navigation or a self-emptying dustbin. Now’s your chance to get a strong midrange model for a budget price.

As an honorable mention, the Eufy X10 Pro Robot Vacuum and Mop is on sale for $549.99, a solid 31% off its $799.99 list price. We haven't tested this particular model, but it comes from our readers' favorite robot vacuum brand for 2024. It empties its own dustbin, washes its own mops, and lifts its mops higher than the Deebot X2 Omni.

My Experience

I’m PCMag’s senior writer covering smart home and wearable devices. I’ve been reporting on tech professionally for nearly a decade and have been obsessing about it for much longer than that. Prior to joining PCMag, I made educational videos for an electronics store called Abt Electronics in Illinois, and before that, I spent eight years covering the smart home market for CNET.

I foster many flavors of nerdom in my personal life. I’m an avid board gamer and video gamer. I love fantasy football, which I view as a combination of role-playing games and sports. Plus, I can talk to you about craft beer for hours and am on a personal quest to have a flight of beer at each microbrewery in my home city of Chicago.

The Technology I Use

I tend to like mixing flavors from various companies. My personal computer is an Apple MacBook Pro. My phone is a Google Pixel 7a. On my wrists are an ever-rotating lineup of the latest smartwatches, and I sometimes wear two at once for testing and extra style. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is a mainstay on my wrist because I use it as a control for evaluating the accuracy of other devices' fitness metrics.

I spend plenty of time in front of my entertainment center, which features a 55-inch LG OLED TV, a Yamaha soundbar, a Nintendo Switch, and a PS5. (I insisted on getting the PS5 with the disc slot when they were hard to come by and haven’t used the feature in more than a year.) I thought I’d have given in to temptation and snagged an Xbox to play Starfield by now, but Baldur’s Gate 3 saved me money by distracting me long enough for the Starfield hype to blow past.

I have two cats and sneeze plenty, so I have a Shark Air Purifier to help me fight back against their dastardly, shedding ways.

I use my aforementioned Pixel 7a and a Nest Hub for Google Assistant, an iPhone 16e and AirPods to talk to Siri, and an Amazon Echo Show 5 and Echo Show 15 for Alexa, so I’m not in danger of losing touch with any of the big three digital assistants.
