Cloud-based storage service Dropbox has added some new features in its iOS app.

First, Dropbox for iOS will now support the ability for users to sign PDFs from within the software. The feature means users won't need to download files to their iPhones or iPads before signing them. Upon signing from within the app, the modified file is saved and ready to be sent back.

In addition, Dropbox says users can now send and receive files in iMessage, thanks to iOS 10, and can add a Dropbox widget to the iOS 10 lock screen so they can quickly view, create, and upload files from that page.

Dropbox rounded out the iOS update with notifications to let users know when a file has been updated, as well as support for picture-in-picture, so users can watch a video in Dropbox while working on another app on the iPad. Looking ahead, Dropbox says it'll add split-screen support for iPad users, too.

"Working from your phone or tablet can make a big difference in your productivity, but sometimes it's still hard to match the efficiency of working at your desk," Dropbox's Matteus Pan said in a statement. "We want to change that."

The iOS Dropbox update is available now in Apple's App Store.
