PlayStation 5 owners who have not yet tapped into the Ted Lasso fandom can now get an Apple TV+ free trial that lasts twice as long as what Cupertino is currently offering.

Sign up for Apple's video-streaming service now and get a six-month free trial, after which it will default to $4.99 per month, unless you cancel. To sign up, download and open the Apple TV app on your PS5, and sign in or create an Apple ID, at which point you should see the offer.

The promo is available until July 22, 2022, and it's open to new and existing Apple TV+ subscribers, so if you're already paying for it, sign in to nab six months free. It only works on the PS5 (sorry, PS4 owners) and is valid in more than 60 countries; Sony has a full list on its site.

The promotion comes shortly after Apple announced that it would no longer offer a one-year free subscription of TV+ for those who buy new Apple devices. The offer now stands at three free months, so PS5 owners are getting a better deal than those buying a new iPhone or Mac.

The announcement also comes ahead of the season two premiere of Emmy-nominated show Ted Lasso on July 23.

Ted Lasso received 20 Emmy nominations, and this new deal with Sony could help bring even more eyeballs to the popular sports comedy. But the whole Apple TV+ library is open for viewing, including shows like Central Park and Mythic Quest.
