Now you can sync your Aura ROG lighting scheme to the backpack that carries your gaming laptop around. It even has its own smartphone app and a remote built into the shoulder strap for on-the-fly adjustments.

Buying gaming hardware doesn't just get you performance components anymore, there's usually a light show, too. Asus' RGB lighting system is called Aura and it can already be found integrated into keyboards, mice, motherboards, desktops, and laptops. But Asus is taking Aura a step further by integrating it into a backpack.

Not content with offering a light show on the Republic of Gamers (ROG) laptops, Asus will also light up the backpack tasked with carrying your laptop around. It's called the ROG Ranger BP3703, and Asus describes it as "unapologetically ROG."

The black backpack has the ROG logo and a color line running diagonally across the front. Both light up through the use of LEDs and include an ambient light sensor to automatically adjust brightness depending on the lighting conditions. User control is offered in two ways. The first is a remote built into the shoulder strap allowing the lights to be turned on or off, as well as selecting between three user-configurable lighting profiles.

The second method of control is through a dedicated Android app which connects to the bag using Bluetooth. It allows for up to seven different lighting profiles and includes both colour and pattern tweaks. The patterns offered are color cycle, breathing, static, strobing, rainbow, glowing yo-yo, and wave.

Lights don't work without power, but Asus has made this simple by allowing any standard USB battery to be used, although you can purchase the Ranger with a battery included. There's also a USB Type-A port to allow for device charging from the same battery. The capacity of the backpack is 20 liters and it comes with a sleeve which fits up to a 17-inch laptop inside.

We can expect to see the ROG Ranger BP3703 go on sale later this year alongside the ROG Ranger BP3703 Core, which is the same backpack but without the lighting and device charging features. Pricing has yet to be revealed.
