Mario Party 10 (for Wii U)

Mario Party mode puts four players into a vehicle to traverse the game board. Players take turn as team captain, and they roll dice to determine their movement. Captains collect mini stars on the way to the finish. The player with the most stars wins.

As in classic Super Mario games, each game board has boss spaces to impede players. The mini games could be a simple as hopping on a giant goomba's head or bombarding Petey Piranha with a volley of bombs.

Bowser Party is one of the big new features in Mario Party 10. Four players use the Wii remote to play cooperatively, while a fifth player uses the GamePad as Bowser. Team Mario must race to the finish, but if Bowser catches up he forces them into a unique and villainous mini-game.

Bowser will challenge players to one of ten unique mini-games if he catches up to Team Mario. Some have players run from Bowser's fireball volley, while others have them race along a track to evade his hammer smash.

Despite being developed for the Wii U, Wii remotes are required to play all modes in Mario Party 10, so be warned. All mini-games, from the golf-swinging madness to the bomb-throwing boss fights, require Wii remote inputs. The pro controllers or GamePad simply won't do.

There are plenty of mini-games to enjoy in Mario Party 10. Beyond the three major modes, players can also opt to play their favorite mini-games individually, without committing to a game mode.
