Guitar Hero it's not, but the bright colors, fun control style, cheery music, and abundance of instruments makes Wii Music a natural choice for very young gamers.

Wii Music has a lot to offer the preschool set. The game lets you play a variety of simulated instruments using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck, and the way you move the controls will determine what notes you play and how the song sounds. Every instrument has a different control style. For children who are too young to pick up Dad's guitar (think 3 or 4 years old), this is a fun way to learn about different instruments and songs, as well as musical ideas like rhythm and timing. The game has the standard-issue Wii whimsy (Wiimsy?), employing bright animations and fun sounds to keep kids engaged. I'm giving it 3.5 stars for the under-5 crowd, but would advise everyone else to save your $50.
