In a move that won't surprise anyone, it looks as though Epic Games decided to port its hugely successful free-to-play game Fortnite over to the Nintendo Switch. At least, that's what the Korean game ratings board would have us believe.

As Eurogamer reports, Fortnite for Switch has been rated for release in Korea, which means we're all going to get access to the game on Nintendo's hybrid console in the very near future. The leak is backed up by a photo of an E3 games list for the Switch posted on 4chan which includes a reference to Fortnite. With that in mind, it looks as though Epic Games was set to do the big reveal at E3 in Los Angeles later this month.

The co-op sandbox survival games was released in July last year, but its popularity really soared when a Battle Royale mode was added. It's currently available to play on Windows, Mac, PS4, and Xbox One.

Developer Epic Games is currently facing a lawsuit over the Battle Royale mode filed by Korean developer PUBG Corporation. It's claimed that Fortnite infringes the copyright of PUBG by having a very similar user interface and core gameplay elements. Meanwhile, Fortnite seems to be going from strength-to-strength, adding new players all the time and generating around $200 million a month in transactions.

With the Switch fast approaching 20 million units sold, it makes perfect sense to port Fortnite to Nintendo's hardware. The combination of console-quality graphics and the ability to play the game away from a TV or monitor is sure to entice a lot of new players to download it on Switch.
