It's been six years since Diablo III first launched on PC. Since then the game has undergone some major changes, enjoyed releases on PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One, and received a ton of new content which led to the latest Eternal Collection that brings all the extra content together into one package. Now the Switch is set to get that collection later this year.

Blizzard confirmed as much last week after Forbes leaked the news early. Switch owners will also be happy to hear all the content fits on a cartridge so you can buy a physical copy without requiring any downloads. But what does Diablo III look like running on Switch, especially in handheld mode? A video, brought to our attention by Siliconera, answers that very question.

The footage was captured during Gamescom 2018 by Gaming Boulevard and shows Diablo III from multiple angles and points in the game. There's no noticeable slow down, even when the screen is full of enemies and effects, which is certainly promising. You have to wonder how long the Switch battery will last, though.

As a reminder, Diablo III: Eternal Collection includes the original game as well as the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions, and all other content updates Blizzard released. Nintendo also ensured you are getting something unique in the form of an armor set that allows you to look like Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda.

We still don't know the final release date for the $60 game on Switch, but Blizzard can't wait too much longer to tell us if it's launching this year. BlizzCon 2018 kicks off on Nov. 2, but that seems too late. Maybe the launch will happen in October and then Blizzard can push for sales during BlizzCon.
