Earlier this week, Nintendo stated that sales of 3DS hardware in all its iterations would soon hit 70 million units. A highly-desirable new 2DS bundle arriving in time for Black Friday is sure to help them get to that total even quicker.

If you have kids and want to give them a great introduction to gaming, then this bundle is for you. As Polygon reports, Nintendo will offer a "Link green" 2DS with a pre-installed copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for just $79.99. It will sit alongside the two existing $80 2DS bundles which include New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Mario Kart 7.

Of course, that Link green 2DS is going to be a big draw for anyone who already owns a 3DS, but is a huge Zelda fan. It also makes the decision of which handheld to buy all the more difficult. The 2DS XL is the best choice in terms of size and features, but it costs $70 more than this Black Friday bundle, $93 more if you count the cost of the game.

Breathe of the Wild Exploere's Edition

Nintendo also decided that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sales need to increase, to the point where people who already own the game should be enticed to buy it again. So we are getting a Breath of the Wild Explorer's Edition for $59.99. Included in the pack will be a copy of the game, a 100-page explorer's guide, and a full-color two-sided map.

While that won't be enough to warrant a re-purchase for most gamers, it will certainly be popular with anyone picking up a Switch in the coming months. If Nintendo had wanted to, they could have included a Season Pass with the Explorer's Edition and made this a complete version of the game. That could still happen, but it will be another new version released in 2018 at the earliest.

Nintendo is lining up for a very busy Christmas and a hard fight for sales. Not only is the company struggling to keep up with demand for both the Switch and SNES Classic, but the Xbox One X marketing blitz is about to kick off and Sony won't stay quiet on how great the PS4 Pro is and all the games you can buy for it. We are spoiled for choice this holiday season!
