"The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human."

Brazilian teen Marcel Fernandes Filho recently texted that phrase in 18.19 seconds, breaking a previous record by 0.25 seconds and earning himself a Guinness World Record.

Filho did so with the help of a Fleksy keyboard and a Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone.

"Ever since we found out about the Guinness World Record for texting on a smartphone, we knew we had to break it," the Fleksy team wrote in a blog post.

In celebration of the honor, the touch-screen keyboard startup has released "the best Fleksy yet" for Android and iOS, boasting improvements to the app's core engine.

"Not only is Fleksy now the fastest keyboard, it's also the most accurate," the team said, tipping a two-week free trial for all users, new and old.

So, head over to the iTunes App Store or Google Play store before the month's end to download an unlocked trial version of the application. Upgrade to the full version in the next two weeks, and you'll get 50 percent off.

And test your skills in the new Fleksy challenge, which promises prizes for anyone who can beat Filho's new Guinness World Record time. (But maybe practice the two Guinness-approved sentences above, first.)

Even if you can't quite break the record, you may be in the running for a prize pack, which will be sent to those users with the top 10 times.

Most teens these days can move their thumbs across a digital keyboard faster than you can say Guinness World Record. But Filho got his texting start five years ago, when he destroyed his Dell desktop monitor and was left with only an iPhone 3GS to communicate.
