Year after year, the average American’s digital presence and connectedness grows. So it should come as no surprise that when booking a trip, good Wi-Fi is a must for many of us.

Traveling is back now, as more Americans get vaccinated. And about 84% of Americans say they’d be less likely to book short-term rentals with bad internet reviews, according to a survey conducted by HighSpeedInternet.com. In talking to over 1,000 people about their travel plans, about 74% of the respondents said Wi-Fi was either very important (43%) or essential (30%).

The ability to work remotely during COVID-19 has been a game changer for many Americans, too, and countries including Barbados and the United Arab Emirates became popular destinations for so-called "digital nomads." More than 60% of survey respondents said they worked remotely from hotels or short-term rental services such as Vrbo and Airbnb, making premium Wi-Fi a must for good vibes and a cool backdrop for Zoom meetings.

According to HighSpeedInternet.com’s survey: “If you post a screenshot of internet speed test results in a listing for a short-term rental, 84% of the respondents said they would be more likely to book a stay there.”

Considering how mentally exhausting staying inside for the past year and half has been because of the pandemic, being able to travel for either business or pleasure is a nice change of pace. The US ranks highly on the list of countries with the best internet service, so when you’re looking for that next location for vacation or work, remember that you deserve the best.
