Cisco is shutting down its offices in Russia and Belarus.
The company announced in March that it was "stopping all business operations, including sales and services, in Russia and Belarus for the foreseeable future" in response to the invasion of Ukraine. Now it seems Cisco has decided to make its exit from those markets a bit more official.
"We have now made the decision to begin an orderly wind-down of our business in Russia and Belarus," Cisco says in its announcement. "We are focused on ensuring impacted employees in Russia and Belarus are treated with respect and have our support through this transition."
Reuters reports that the company has "offered relocation options to its few hundred employees" in Russia and Belarus. The report notes that Cisco hasn't offered additional information about where those employees will be relocated to, presumably because that's not entirely within its control.
"We will communicate directly with customers, partners, and vendors to settle our financial matters," the company says, "including refunding prepaid service and software arrangements, to the extent permissible under applicable laws and regulations."
