Filmmakers Tiffany and Jayce Bartok may describe themselves as luddites, but they'd have to admit that technology plays a vital role in both their personal and professional lives. In fact, it helps them take a DIY approach to getting their film projects off the ground. While working on their current project, a film called Tiny Dancer, the pair started a non-profit community for independent filmmakers, taking take a cue from platforms like Kickstarter to raise funds. The Bartoks chose IndieGoGo, a global funding platform, to host their fundraising campaign. So far, they've raised over $20,000, which is probably more than what they would have raised through a live fundraising event. Both have a long history in film and television. Jayce has been acting for 20 years, most recently in The Station Agent, and he also received critical acclaim for his screenwriting debut, The Cake Eaters, which starred a pre-Twilight Kristen Stewart. Together, the couple has written and independently-produced over seven films.
