Ready to upgrade your Android phone? Samsung will reportedly unveil its Galaxy S24 on Jan. 17, 2024, at an Unpacked event in San Jose, California.

According to Korean publication The Elec, a Samsung "official" confirmed the date, though the official PR channels declined to comment.

Recent launches for Samsung's Galaxy S series have been held in February, save for the Galaxy S21 launch in 2021, which was held virtually on Jan. 14. This year's S23 Unpacked event was held in San Francisco on Feb. 1. As SamMobile notes, the earlier timeline is an effort "to improve revenue for the year's first quarter."

Preorders are expected to begin Jan. 18, with a formal launch on Jan. 30.

This corroborates a rumor posted on SBS Biz that said the Galaxy S24 launch is happening sometime in January. SBS Biz also says the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE edition will launch in South Korea sometime next month, the first Fan Edition to launch in the country in three years. It arrived in the US last month, and we found it to be "a low-cost, high-powered winner."

Samsung has already confirmed that its next-gen Galaxy phone, which we're all assuming will be called the Galaxy S24, will have a host of new AI features along with satellite connectivity.

Hello, my name is Joe and I am a tech blogger. My first real experience with tech came at the tender age of 6 when I started playing Final Fantasy IV (II on the SNES) on the family's living room console. As a teenager, I cobbled together my first PC build using old parts from several ancient PCs, and really started getting into things in my 20s. I served in the US Army as a broadcast journalist. Afterward, I served as a news writer for XDA-Developers before I spent 11 years as an Editor, and eventually Senior Editor, of Android Authority. I specialize in gaming, mobile tech, and PC hardware, but I enjoy pretty much anything that has electricity running through it.
