Original Story:The iPhone 15 Pro lineup has had a bit of a rocky rollout. After resolving an overheating issue with an iOS 17 update, Apple may have another headache on its hands: screen burn-in.
As Phandroid reports, some iPhone 15 Pro Max owners are reporting image ghosting, or when screens display static images that appear burned into the screen, such as a logo. Complaints have cropped up on Apple's official forums as well as Reddit.
"Wow! It’s been two weeks. This is the worst phone ever released by Apple," a user known as Surfphysics wrote on the forums. "The release has felt like BETA TESTING on a production product," they added.
Typically, burn-in will show up over time, usually on TVs or monitors. So it's not a great sign when it shows up on a brand-new device. In the images shared online, you can see the outline of the keyboard and apps on the lock screen. it seems to largely affect the OLED display on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, based on the complaints.
On Reddit, someone said they went to the Genius Bar and Apple replaced the phone. It's likely covered under the phone's warranty, though Apple has not released an official statement about the problem, like it did with the overheating problem.
