If you've chosen the iPhone 15 Pro Max, then it's probably safe to say that you're a maximalist. And if you're not one to compromise on features, you're probably not one to compromise on cases either.

That's why we put together this tightly-curated list of the best cases for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. You'll notice that Apple's new FineWoven offering is not on here. PCMag's Managing Editor for Consumer Electroncs Eric Zeman tried it out and said, "I am not a fan of Apple's new FineWoven. While I applaud the company's move away from leather accessories, this material is slippery and doesn't have a pleasing texture."

You won't find a disappointing case like that on this list and hopefully you'll find one that fits your needs. If there's one that you love that's not here, let us know in the comments.

Bandolier Billie Utility Crossbody

Bandolier Billie Utility Crossbody (iPhone 15 Pro Max)

Like we said, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is big. Like big big. So if you don't want to carry too much else with you and you want your phone to be the focus, consider Bandolier's Billie Crossbody. It straps across your body so you and your phone can go anywhere and you can be hands-free.

Bellroy Phone Case - 3 Card

Bellroy Phone Case - 3 Card (iPhone 15 Pro Max)

Maybe all you want to carry are a few cards and your phone though. The Bellroy Phone Case - 3 Card is a good choice then. It's made of the beautiful leather Bellroy is known for and has a compartment for cards (as well as a SIM card slot).

CaseBorne Case

Caseborne Compatible with iPhone 15 Pro Max Protective Case

CaseBorne makes tough cases that function well in adventurous situations. This one has five layers of protection and a tempered glass screen protector. There's a holster for when you need it at hand and a kickstand for when you want to kick back and watch something.

Casetify The Grippy Case - Marshmallow Cloud

At first glance this case looks wildly impractical, like you might have your head in the clouds if you carry it. But Casetify's The Grippy Case - Marshmallow Cloud has substance. The sky provides cushioning and the cloud acts as both a phone grip and a stand.

Flaunt Matte Black Square Case

OtterBox OtterGrip Symmetry Series for MagSafe Case

OtterBox OtterGrip Symmetry Series for MagSafe (iPhone 15 Pro Max)

Do you love the functionality of a PopSocket but not the way it looks when not in use? Then get this OtterBox OtterGrip Symmetry Series for MagSafe Case. Note that it says OtterGrip which is definitely very different than a PopSocket, a company that OtterBox used to work with. We think this brown spot pattern is cute but it comes in other patterns and colors as well.

Smartish Gripzilla Case

Smartish Gripzilla (iPhone 15 Pro Max)

If you want to make sure that you really have a handle on your iPhone 15 Pro Max, then the Smartish Gripzilla Case will help you out. It has indented finger grips on either side and, in case you do lose hold of it, has raised edges around the screen and camera and air pockets in the corners.

My Experience

My title is Senior Features Writer, which is a license to write about absolutely anything if I can connect it to technology (I can). I’ve been at PCMag since 2011 and have covered the surveillance state, vaccination cards, ghost guns, voting, ISIS, art, fashion, film, design, gender bias, and more. You might have seen me on TV talking about these topics or heard me on your commute home on the radio or a podcast. Or maybe you’ve just seen my Bernie meme

I strive to explain topics that you might come across in the news but not fully understand, such as NFTs and meme stocks. I’ve had the pleasure of talking tech with Jeff Goldblum, Ang Lee, and other celebrities who have brought a different perspective to it. I put great care into writing gift guides and am always touched by the notes I get from people who’ve used them to choose presents that have been well-received. Though I love that I get to write about the tech industry every day, it’s touched by gender, racial, and socioeconomic inequality and I try to bring these topics to light.

Outside of PCMag, I write fiction, poetry, humor, and essays on culture.

My Areas of Expertise

  • Making incomprehensible tech news easy to understand
  • Expanding the boundaries of topics covered in the industry
  • Figuring out tips and tricks in apps and on devices and letting you know about them
  • Putting together gift guides for everyone in your life

The Technology I Use

All that gadgets is gold for me: my iPhone 11 Pro, my fifth-generation iPad that I use only for streaming videos and music, my iPad mini 4 that I like to take with me whenever I carry a bag that can fit it, and my MacBook Pro. Why are they all different shades of gold, though? What’s going on, Apple?

None of them quite live up to my two past loves: my LG Lotus LX600 phone and my Sony Walkman NW-E005 MP3 player.

I've never given up wired earbuds so I was ahead of all those trend pieces. I use a Mangotek Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone jack adapter to connect them to my phone.

I have had so many ebook readers, but I prefer paper to them all. Still, my Kindle Paperwhite is perfect for traveling or when I’m too impatient to wait for a book to be released in paperback.
